I was walking a husky and a chow mix for a client (I’m a pet sitter) when I noticed a woman in her driveway with a little unleashed dog toodling around at her feet. I asked her to make sure her little dog didn’t run up to my big dogs. She said he wasn’t hers, she was on her way out and he was covered in fleas so she didn’t want him in her house.

By this time the dog had seen my dogs and bolted. He stayed in view for a while and I saw him go up to two other people. He was clearly asking for help but they each shooed him away.  Heartbreaking. Then I lost sight of him.

I got my dogs back to their home, then drove around and around until I spotted him. He came right over. He was dirty and scrawny and his back end was raw and half bald from the chronic fleas. I told him, “You’re just a little monkeybutt aren’t you?”

I put him in a crate I always keep in my car. He put his chin on his paws and heaved the biggest sigh his little self could heave. He was not microchipped. The vet estimated about three years old. I posted him on our local lost/found sites but no one came forward. My plan was to bring him back to good health, get him neutered and then find a good home for him.

I am a cat person and wasn’t prepared to take on a dog with my seven-day a week pet sitting schedule. But Monkey had a plan of his own! He’s been with me for a year now, he gets along with my cats and I wouldn’t change a thing.

The Photo Journey of This Dog Saved During a Flood Will Completely Melt Your Heart

When Bran was found in the midst of a flood in Atlanta, his new family saved him from more than just the water.  He was 25 pounds underweight, and brimming with a jaw-dropping number of ticks and parasites.  But now he has an amazing life, and a sister that is as bonded with him as a littermate would be.  His story is riveting!

Woman Finally Catches Homeless Freeway Dog That She Spent Two Months Trying to Rescue

Woman Finally Catches Homeless...

In 2008, heading to work, I passed a business center and saw a small rat terrier attempting to tear into a discarded food bag. I pulled into the lot and the dog took off! I followed in my car as she ran the perimeter of the parking lot! She dashed under a fence and was now literally on the berm of the freeway, where she lived.

I contacted a rescue who said they would send someone right out. Three days later, there she was again, trying to get food. I pulled in again as she ran back to her “nest” off the freeway, out of my reach on the other side of the fence. After leaving my tuna for her I went got a bag of food and for the next seven weeks I fed her twice a day.

I got lucky one Sunday, and as she twisted to bite a flea, I grabbed her. She was thin, cut up and literally infested with fleas. She was chipped, but her owners didn’t want her back after being lost for four months. She was also terrified. I took her home and three baths later, she ate and fell asleep in my arms. She was terrified of men hid when I left the house and my husband could never find her. There was no way I was letting this one go to the pound!

Eight years later, and this little beauty rules our house! She chases planes, our Great Danes, plays daily with her squirrel friend and every single night, she hops up on our bed and must be touching my husband and gives unconditional love. In the am, I tell her to go wake up Poppy, and she runs to wake my husband up with kisses. Her name was Baby, but changed to Squeek. At mealtime, she runs outside, runs back and forth, and she squeaks! My husband says it’s because she is so happy and secure that this is her forever home. Everyone always says how lucky she is. I say we were the lucky ones!

Missing Dog Found After Spending a WEEK Underground

————————————————————————————————————————————This story comes from Socializta on imgur:————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————This is my family’s dog, Edgar. He’s a good boy.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————Unfortunately, he ran away from home about a week ago. This week has been very stormy, and this lil guy is afraid of storms. Needless to say, we feared the worst after 7 days.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————Our other dog, Oscar (right) was a very sad lil pooch. He never leaves Edgar’s side, and was very depressed this last week without his best friend.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————Today, my dad was walking Oscar through the neighborhood when he heard a noise. It sounded like a dog whining, but so does everything when you’re looking for a lost dog. After further investigation, my dad looked in a drainage tunnel under the ground. That’s when Edgar started barking, whining, and screaming to be saved.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————There he is! The fire department was able to cut through the tunnel and dig up the soil around it. This is the first time Edgar saw sunlight all week.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————Almost free!————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————Like I said, it’s been a rainy week, and this poor lil doggo was stuck in a storm drain filled with water. He is covered in sores and has a few infections, but he’s okay.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————At the vet. Dehydrated, starving, and shivering.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————The vet shaved parts of his fur to treat his wounds. He’s one tired doge.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————He just ate a PBJ.————————————————————————————————————————————

————————————————————————————————————————————Reunited! I love these guys and I am so happy he’s home. I thought I would never see him again, and all of this just seems too good to be true. I hope this story made you guys feel good. Will keep you all updated as time goes on.————————————————————————————————————————————
